Since 2007 Xero has been available to customers 99.99% of the time, with a high quality hosting infrastructure. All Xero's customer information is backed up on daily basis meaning you have no need to back up your data, as Xero already have. But if you ever wish to get your data from Xero you may export reports at any interval. These reports can be easily exported into Microsoft Excel, ready for analysis as well as being easy to understand.
Data that includes Chart of Accounts, Contacts and more can be exported in a csv file format for further easy use outside of Xero. Xero makes sure to trade under all legislation that covers privacy of information and its security. If any transfer of data to third parties is made it will only be made after the consent of you and only to companies with acceptable data protection.
